Reaching out could change their life…and yours 🙏

Reaching out could change their life…and yours 🙏

Have you ever met Chase Poust? If you ever get the chance, you’d be meeting a 7-year old hero. For one hour, Chase rigorously swam through strong currents to reach shore to get help for his father and sister who were being carried away down the river. You can watch Chase’s story here:

As 7 year old boy Chase did not have the physical power to save his father and sister. But Chase knew how to get help. Do you ever feel like a 7 year old boy in this world? How can you fix the drug issues in our city, the disgusting political violence, the blatant choice to defy God, and the rise of your own spiritual apathy? Do you know how to reach out and get help?

You go to the One who has the power and do what He’s called you to do.

1. Pray

In Jesus prayer before his crucifixion in John 17, He chose to pray for you. He prayed that the truth would sanctify you and that evil would be kept from you. He prayed for you because His greatest act of love for you was about to be displayed to the whole world as He hung naked and bleeding. His last thoughts were about you. He went to do what you could never do for yourself.

Who’s on your prayer list? Who are you praying for to get saved?

“How can I tell you that I love you if I never pray for you?” – unknown

2. Share

When Paul’s life was radically transformed by the gospel, he used the rest of his life for one purpose – share the gospel. “For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel…” 1 Corinthians‬ ‭1:17‬ Paul had no ability to save people on his own – only Jesus could do that. Paul couldn’t resurrect from the grave – only Jesus could do that. Paul couldn’t calm seas, heal lepers, raise the dead, or set captives free – only Jesus could do that.

You are as human as Paul. But your God is the same as Paul’s God. “For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.” 1 Corinthians‬ ‭1:18‬ You can share the gospel. You can post a verse. You can share your salvation story with somebody else.

“I don’t want a religion that I put away with my Sunday clothes, and don’t take out till the day comes around again; I want something to see and feel and live day by day.” – Louisa May Alcott
