Make your Christmas a Success!

Make your Christmas a Success!

Christmas is full of many wonderful memories. Christmas movies, lights, hot chocolate, and cold weather all make for good times. But what do you do when such a joyous season is threatened by a bad attitude, rude customers, or unthankful relatives? These 8 tips and verses will strengthen your spiritual resolve during the holidays.

1. Keep your attention on Jesus

2 Peter 3:18 “But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.”

2. Sow as many seeds as possible

Psalm 126:6 “He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.”

3. Megadose in God’s Word

Isaiah 55:10-11 “For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth:it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”

4. Give extra time to your family

Ephesians 5:16 “Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”

5. Ask for the increase

1 Chronicles 4:10 “And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.”

6. Expand your spiritual influence

Jude 22-23 “And of some have compassion, making a difference: And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.”

7. Help strangers, widows, and orphans

Isaiah 1:16-17 “Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.”

8. Give glory to God

1 Corinthians 10:31 “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.”
