Somebody’s last words have a lasting impact on us. Maybe you still remember the last thing your grandmother said to you before she passed or maybe the last words that your relative said before they moved away. Whoever is important to you, their last words are forever etched in your mind.
The last four words in red – the words of Jesus – in your Bible are “SURELY I COME QUICKLY.” Revelation 22:20 “He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.”
1. Tell Someone
Your experience is going to be radically different in Heaven when you see that coworker you led to Christ there. When you see your Mom or uncle there who you witnessed to for years and they finally received Christ, you are going to be so thankful! Paul wrote about this joyous experience to the Thessalonian church, “For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming? For ye are our glory and joy.” 1 Thessalonians 2:19-20
2. Invest in eternity
It’s very strange how some Christians are totally fine turning their hard-earned money over to a financial consultant into a 401k or Roth IRA account yet struggle to give to God what He blessed them with. The Chief Financial Officer of your finances ought to be God. Tithes, missions support, and giving to the poor are not burdens to bear but blessings to share. “..but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:” Matthew 6:20
Think about the mood in your house when your best friend and their family is coming over for dinner. You’re excited, your kids are pumped to play with their friends, and you bought some extra ice cream! Why? Because it’s time to enjoy the fellowship of a dear friend. You’re going to tell jokes, remind each other of past stories, and plan for the next meetup time.
As a Christian, the return of Christ is our opportunity to see our best friend face to face! If you know Jesus as your Savior, your best friend is about to make a dynamite entrance! He’s going to show the whole world who He is! “…looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ…” Titus 2:13
