Church Planter’s Conference

Psalms 16:11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

I was recently invited to a Church Planter’s Conference. I did not seek it out but God brought me to it. There was a church that called and said they wanted me to go. They paid for my plane ticket and I decided to go. I did not know what to expect. My only desire was to see God and be a blessing to anyone placed on my path. I was in for a big surprise. God showed up big time and I was blown away at the spirit and involvement of this meeting. There was over 100 church planter’s in attendance. They were there to communicate their burden for the lost and the call of God to plant a church in America. Amazing to see.

It didn’t take long to see what this meeting was about – Church planting and supporting the laborers going to do the will of God. I was touched by God after hearing the first preacher tell us where he was going. After he spoke of his burden and need to get to his mission field the moderator got up and said “alright, lets get to business.” All of the sudden hundreds of believers stood up and said “I will give $100” and another said “I will give $1000” and another said “I will support $100 a month.” It was truly wonderful to see people with a heart to give and see people saved. This went on for four days straight. By the end of the meeting there was over $330,000 given to start churches in America.

I couldn’t just sit there and not give. I knew I had very little and our church is in the first few years of ministry but I thought “hey, little is much when God is in it!” So, I began to ask God what he would have me do. I got involved in giving as the Spirit led. It was one of the greatest experiences of my life. I truly cherish God leading me to this meeting.

Here’s some of the blessings and things I learned from the meeting:
1) Now is the time to support church planting in America
2) Get involved when the Spirit is moving
3) Listen to the Spirit for how much to give
4) Discern the need
5) Give with a cheerful heart and expect God to do miracles

Here’s a few comments or phrases I picked up from listening to the preachers:
1) Don’t quit when God wants you to conquer
2) The best time to grow an oak tree is 25 years ago. The 2nd best time is today.
3) It’s because of the great “I am” that I am what I am.
4) Make sure bible education doesn’t exceed your bible application – Use it or lose it.
5) If it doesn’t seem right then its probably not.
6) The way to express your love and devotion to God is by serving those He has placed on your path.
7) All fruits are sweeter when they are picked at the right time
8) You better have the call of God before you go because the village people will take your burden away in 5 minutes.
9) A Christian who is not soul winning is not doing the perfect will of God.
10) Love and faith are the great motivators for serving.

I made some new friends on the journey and am super thankful for Gods leadership in my life. There is nothing better than following Jesus.
