Spiritual Leadership Conference 2013
My Wagon is loaded! I feel like a person who was seeking blessings in California during the Gold Rush days. Man, I certainly found the vein of rich spiritual wealth. God has done so much in my heart at this meeting. I am so excited to implement the decisions and follow through with God’s plans for my life and our ministry. I received so much clarity on direction. I even got confirmation on a big decision for our church family that I had recently surrendered too. Praise God for making this journey so wonderful.
The Theme Text for the conference:
“Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.
And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.
And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.” – Luke 5:4-6
Here’s some of the great quotes, spiritual truth’s, and wisdom I wrote down from the meeting –
“Your next faith step just might be the step that saves your current situation.” Pastor Hong-
Acts 11:27-30: Our new church plant might just be the strength and nourishment that helps VBC.
“God will always match the resources to the vision He has given you.” Pastor Chappell
“What we live in moderation our children will live in excess.” Pastor Oulette
“The truth can fight for itself in the market place of ideas – Just preach it!”
“Innovation must not violate the Word of God.”
“I am more interested in Christ followers than FaceBook friends.”
“Growth is not always an indicator of health.”
“Your financial giving doesn’t absolve you from walking with God and do the work.”
“The Christian life is not a transaction, its a relationship. God will be with you.” Pastor Skellie
“Buildings don’t change lives but what happens in them does.”
“You can go through a building program and still keep your walk with God, love your family, win souls, nurture the church properly, and keep your health all at the same time. Just remember the building project will take you longer than you thought, cost you more than you expect to pay, but if you plan for these issues and pray through them, then when the project is finished you will be richly blessed knowing you fulfilled God’s will. This process is meant to compliment and add to your faith. Allow God’s will to happen in your life. Be strong and of good courage – and do it! In his grace and for his glory.”
These passages confirmed in my heart God’s direction for VBC: More about this as the days go on… –
“And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed: for the LORD God, even my God, will be with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the LORD.” – 1 Chronicles 28:20
“Let us go, we pray thee, unto Jordan, and take thence every man a beam, and let us make us a place there, where we may dwell. And he answered, Go ye. And one said, Be content, I pray thee, and go with thy servants. And he answered, I will go.” – 2 Kings 6:2-3
The Lord is leading us to launch out into the deep, let down our nets, and catch souls for His glory. Let’s be strong and of good courage – and do it! He has commanded it and promises He will be with us. Amen.
